Jill’s journey began when she registered her change of status (COS) with approximately 60 hours of personal leave to be transferred via the HR ticket system. Having transferred from another facility, Jill needed her accrued personal leave to be accurately reflected in her new payroll records to ensure financial stability. However, the transition was not as smooth as anticipated. 

Despite numerous updates and requests through the HR ticket system, the status of Jill’s personal leave transfer remained unchanged. She created new requests and persistently sought urgent attention, highlighting the financial hardship she was facing. Jill’s attempts to contact HR via phone were unsuccessful, and the status of her ticket frustratingly remained marked as “High Priority” with no resolution in sight.

During this period, Jill was required to take an additional five days off due to personal illness. Without the necessary personal leave being uploaded into the system, Jill faced a significant financial shortfall. Her paycheck did not reflect any of the personal leave from her COS, resulting in a substantial loss in income. This financial strain forced Jill to request payment extensions for her rent and loans, adding stress to her already challenging situation.

Recognising the severity of the situation, Jill reached out to NPAA for support.
She was assigned a case manager who promptly took action, contacting payroll on Jill’s behalf.
